Clean Energy Business Council (CEBC)'s Women in Clean Energy (WICE) and Canada's Women in Renewable Energy (WiRE) Signing Ceremony

15 July 2020. CBC Abu Dhabi supported the webinar and signing ceremony of the WiRE/Women in Renewable Energy, Canadian NGO, and the CEBC/Clean Energy Business Council, a MENA regional NGO based in Abu Dhabi. The agreement supports the UAE to advance its renewable/clean energy objectives as well as gender agenda. The event celebrated the signing of their partnership and also featured interesting speakers, all female leaders in Renewable Energy sector from the UAE and from Canada.

UAE Cabinet Reshuffle Appoints New Ministers and Merges Departments

05 July 2020. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Prime Minister and Vice President of the UAE, Ruler of Dubai, merged ministries and departments in a Cabinet reshuffle on Sunday in a drive to create a more agile government. Sheikh Mohammed, set out a new structure for some public institutions and brought new talent into the Cabinet. READ MORE.

A webinar dialogue session was recently hosted by the UAE-Canada Business Council to discuss the ‘Energy issues in the post-COVID-19 world' in the presence of Suhail bin Mohammed Faraj Faris Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Industry, OPEC Secretary General, Mohammad Sanusi Barkindo, and Jason Kenney, Premier of Alberta, Canada. Expats in UAE mark 153rd Canada Day online

01 July 2020. Canadian missions in the UAE on Wednesday marked the 153rd Canada Day with a virtual celebration for their 40,000-strong expat community in the country. Dubai's Burj Khalifa also lit up with the colours of the Canadian flag at 8.15pm to join the expats in their festivities. READ MORE.

UAE leads MENA region and ninth in the world in global competitiveness in 2020

16 June 2020. For the fourth year in row, the United Arab Emirates is leading the MENA region in the IMD World Competitiveness Yearbook 2020, issued by the World Competitiveness Centre of the World Institute for Management Development, IMD, in Lausanne, Switzerland, which puts the UAE at 9th place among the most competitive countries in the world. Multi-nation Business Continuity Task Force

15 June 2020. A multi-nation group of business councils and chambers based in Abu Dhabi and Dubai have joined forces to engage with the UAE government and work collectively to ensure business continuity in the UAE.READ MORE.

Abu Dhabi Chamber Launched Chamber Talk

14 June 2020. H.E. Mohamed Helal Al Muheiri, Director General of Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ADCCI) talks about ADCCI's newest initiative “Chamber Talk”, which was launched to support private sector businesses in Abu Dhabi, the UAE and the region by offering guidance on how to deal with the impact of Covid-19.⁣ ⁣LEARN MORE.

UAE Foreign Minister, Canadian counterpart discuss ways to curb COVID-19 impact

13 June 2020. H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, has discussed with Francois-Philippe Champagne, Canadian Foreign Minister, the bilateral relations between the UAE and Canada. READ MORE.

UAE Minister of State for Defence Affairs, Mohammed Al Bowardi and Canadian Minister of National Defence, Harjit Sajjan discuss joint cooperation

11 June 2020. In a phone call with the Canadian Minister of National Defence, Harjit Sajjan, UAE Minister of State for Defence Affairs, Mohammed Al Bowardi, discussed strengthening defence and military cooperation relations between the UAE and Canada, and ways to develop them to serve the interests of the two friendly countries. Expansion of Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Danat Al Emarat Hospital for Women & Children in Abu Dhabi to include total of 33 NICU beds

23 June 2020. United Eastern Medical Services (UEMedical) has announced the expansion of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Danat Al Emarat Hospital for Women & Children in Abu Dhabi. The 20 million AED expansion included the addition of 18 advanced beds in accordance with the highest international specifications, of which 11 beds are categorized as level III. The new total available beds now have increased to 33 beds, which makes the unit one of the largest neonatal intensive care units in Abu Dhabi. READ MORE.

CAE and Canadian Business Council Abu Dhabi's Collaboration

15 July 2020. CBC Abu Dhabi represented by Chairperson, Gregory Zoughbi, and Relationship Manager, Awais Chughtai met with the new Managing Director of CAE, Thibaut Trancart, and General Manager, Juber Ahmed. The discussions revolved on the continued collaboration of the two organizations which includes the upcoming webinar and Communities of Interest (COI) - Defense and Security sector, among others.
